Aliyah Foundation recently became a sponsor to help several Israeli mothers choose LIFE by providing her with essential items her baby will need for their first year of life. Your generous donation is providing a mother and her baby with a baby bed, stroller, baby bath, diapers, formula, clothes and counseling.

Meet Avigail and Baby Girl Nova Shirel

Avigail is just 18 years old. She is single and comes from a religious home. She was still at school when she found herself pregnant. She knew this would be totally unacceptable to her family, and she was scared and confused.  She looked online to see how to get an abortion and found our Hotline and contacted us. Thankfully after speaking to one of our wonderful counselors, she was able to receive all the love and support she needed to be able to bravely choose life for her baby.

When she told her boyfriend of her decision, he said they should get married as soon as possible, and when they told their families they were very supportive and helped them to arrange an immediate wedding. Her parents paid for it all! Abigail's young husband works in the kitchen of a Yeshiva, and receives a very small salary, so the provision of a baby bed and sheets, baby bath and stroller, plus the promise of monthly vouchers for a whole year to be able to buy all the other essentials they would need, was such a huge blessing to them. 

On 12th November last year Avigail gave birth, naturally, to a beautiful healthy baby girl, and named her Nova Shirel. Nova was the name of the music festival where the horrific massacre took place on 7th October, and she named her daughter in memory of those who lost their lives there.  The name Shirel means ‘Song of God’. 

Both Avigail and her husband love their beautiful baby daughter, and say that she is a wonderful gift to them, and fills their house with joy and happiness. Avigail had her husband beside her during the birth, and now her family has been helping and supporting them, especially her mother.

They are so happy that they made the right decision to keep their baby. They are full of gratitude for all the help they have received through their wonderful sponsor. 

It’s such a joy to see this young family, who love being parents to their sweet girl. Thank you so very much for your generosity and prayers for them.
